We are pleased to announce that the Southeast Tennessee Health Consortium (SETHC) and the Kappa Foundation of Chattanooga have partnered again to host the 3rd Annual Scenic City HBCU 5K Run/Walk. This family event will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020, beginning at 8 a.m., at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center. The efforts are to raise money for scholarships for area students attending any of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and support of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle in the minority community.
The purpose of this race is Awareness, History, and Health. The host location of the event will be the Bessie Smith Cultural Center. The weekend of events will start Friday with an HBCU Fair and packet pick up for run/walk participants. Saturday morning will be race day with health-based vendors and a continuation of the HBCU Fair.
